Team Championships Saturday, 8/3/13

Do we have a team running this year?
Teams for the NYRR Team Championships are comprised of:
• Open: 10 men/10 women (scored by time)*
• 40+: 5 men/3 women (scored by time)*
• 50+: 3 men/3 women (scored by time)*
• 60+: 3 men/3 women (scored by time)*

*If a participating team has not fielded a full team in their division (men’s and women’s open, 40+, 50+, 60+) at a prior NYRR team-points race since January 1, 2013, the team may not score in that division at the NYRR Team Championships.

Thanks for posting Q.

Right now we have 8 (3 x +40) men and 7 women (1 +40) signed up:

Men:
  1. Rajeev
  2. Rich D
  3. Paul G
  4. Mike M
  5. Pedro
  6. Alan T
  7. Jud
  8. Warren

Women:
  1. Stefania
  2. Betta
  3. Chiara
  4. Meher
  5. Amanda
  6. Donna
  7. Simona

(updated 8/2/13)
I think this is a fun race, but there is really no pressure here. It's there if you want to do it. I can bring a cooler and a tarp if folks want to bring beverages and hang out a bit.

I didn't surrender, but they took my horse and made him surrender. They have him pulling a wagon up in Kansas I bet.

OK, I just put that last bit together. Is that a new thing? Sounds kind of stringent. I just added another thing to be annoyed at NYRR about.

I think Q said he is coming to town and is planning on running even though Paul is doing some nonsense out of town.

I am coming. If there is a plan to drink/eat after the race, my mum, Donna, Tiago and Ross will probably come along.

I think Paul is not running in fear of having to race against jhavandal (Phil's replacement as our out-of-town champion)! :)
Times to beat: 1M - 5:43; 5K- 18:55; 4M- 23:54; 5M- 30:08; 10K- 38:17; HM- 1:26:37; M- 3:15:07

It hink that is very clear to anyone paying attention here. It is sad to see him guided by fear ...

Amy Ruth's for afters? Rich / Jahvandal, do you have any preferences? I also would like to go to the upstairs cafe at Eli's Vinegar Factory on E.91st between 1st Ave and York, but I think it is kind of out of the way for a lot of folks. It is spacious, casual, and tasty though.

I will be cheering on the west side and east side so I will be going back and forth. Brunch on either side will be fine for me.

1. Brunch -- what time?
2. Brunch -- do these options need a reservation? I think Eli's does.
3. Brunch - given 1 and 2 do you need a headcount.
4. Given 1,2 and 3, do you need to fix time + place + reservations today?
5. Re. 1,2, 3 and 4, if assistance needed, let know.
6. And if deliberations re. 1-5 have transpired on Facebook, will a cross-posting happen here at some point, etc.

  1. What time, what time ... 11:15?
  2. Are we talking about the same place? I am pretty sure they have never heard of reservations. It is a cafe upstairs from their fancy pants grocery.
  3. head count would be nice just to know who might be involved but at almost 8pm on Friday night I wouldn't get my hopes up.
  4. It's a little late for that.
  5. Thanks, but I couldn't say what to do.
  6. I appreciate all your motivation and thought, but obviously I have fallen short of any expectations that I would plan something. Therefore, anyone that wants to, let's cab / bus /walk it over to the upstairs cafe at Eli's Vinegar factory at:

431 East 91st Street
(between First and York Avenues)
New York, NY 10028
